188Bet online gambling closes its doors to UK and Ireland
The online gambling operator 188Bet announced that it would cease all activities in the UK, Ireland, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands. The announcement reassured customers that the parent company, Annatar Ltd is in no financial difficulty so any pending winnings can be still paid out until August 30.
Winning bets placed up to the end of June 30 would be honoured, however any bets or multiple bets that weren’t settled until that date will be voided.
The notice they placed simply explained that the decision was reached amid a “commercial decision in a very competitive market”.
Primarily 188Bet is an Asian operation, who pusrued a UK Gambling Commission license as a way for it to have access to sponsorship in UK football, which is how it became popular amongst Asian football fans and sports bettors.
They may be known as the official betting sponsors to Manchester City in the premier league.
However it was firmly announced that the cessation of the online gambling website was not the end of all their operations, and all the other 188Bet activities and sponsorships would not be affected in anyway.
188Bet closing its operations puts many bettors into a position of having to find a new gambling website to use and trust. What do you think about 188Bet and their sudden cessation of operations, let us know in the comment section below.
